W WAAC IT

Work at WAAC IT

Small team, real ownership, no ticket-mill culture. Engineers here talk to clients directly and see problems through to the end.

Before launch: replace this with your live vacancies, or leave the speculative-application text and delete the roles list.

Open roles

  • 2nd Line Engineer, Mansfield, hybrid. Windows, 365, networking. [Add salary band.]
  • Security Analyst, Mansfield or remote. MDR alert triage and client reporting. [Add salary band.]

How to apply

Email a CV and a short note about what you've fixed recently to careers@waac.it. No agencies, and no cover letter longer than a page. We'd rather read about the problem than the adjectives.

What it's like here

We're a small team, which cuts both ways and it's worth being honest about both. You won't be a ticket number on a queue dashboard, and you won't spend your career on password resets waiting for a promotion that never comes. You will also be expected to talk to clients directly, own problems through to the end, and occasionally work on something you haven't done before.

There's no scripted escalation path here. If you pick up a fault, you see it through or you hand it over properly to someone who can. That suits engineers who like variety and dislike being managed by metrics; it suits people who want narrow specialisation rather less.

What we look for

  • Curiosity over certification. Certifications are useful and we'll fund them, but we'd rather hire someone who takes things apart to understand them.
  • Plain speaking. Explaining a problem to a director without jargon, and without condescension, is a genuine skill and a large part of the job.
  • Honesty about what you don't know. Guessing in front of a client is far worse than saying you'll find out.
  • A driving licence. We cover a wide area and site visits are part of most roles.

How we hire

A phone call first, then a proper conversation in person, then a decision. No unpaid take-home projects, no panel of six, no personality questionnaires. If we're not going to make you an offer we'll tell you promptly rather than leaving you wondering.

Nothing that fits?

Send a speculative application anyway. We hire when the right person appears rather than on a fixed schedule, so a good CV arriving at the wrong moment is still worth sending.
